Stefan Kiefer, boss of the world championshi🍬p winꦅning Moto2 team, has died overnight in Malaysia, on the eve of this weekend's Sepang round.

"The circumstances, which lead to the tragic incident remain unclear ꦗfor the moment. With respect to the whole family and all other relatives, Kiefer Racing will not take part at Malaysian Grand Prix," said a team statement.

"Stefan Kiefer himself was an active rider and after finishing his career, he found💝ed the team together with his brother Jochen.

"Since 2003 Kiefer Racing is an integral part of the FIM Motorcycle World Championship. Stefan Kiefer was 𝐆highly admired all over the paddock for his always friendly and heartfelt personality and therefore, will be badly missed.

"Stefan Kiefer leaves his girlfriend and one son behind. The en𓄧tire Kiefer Racing Team wants to express their sincere condolence to his family."

Kiefer Racing, which won the 2011 Moto2 world championship with St🌱efan Brad🌼l, currently fields Dominique Aegerter and Tarran Mackenzie on Suter machinery.

Aegerter sent the following message on social media: "I’m just lost for words about what happened last night. It’s a huge shock for all of us ඣand we will miss Stefan incredibly. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. He definitely was one of the best bosses, I ever had, a fantastic person and a great friend. We’ll stay strong all together in his memory. R.I.P. Stefan Kieꦛfer."
