Qatar test: Quartararo under the MotoGP lap record in Qatar, second to Miller

Fabio Quartararo continued his e🌳xcellent early pre-season form in the second Qatar MotoGP test, with second place behind Ducati's Jack Miller.
Both riders were the two men to go under the official MotoGP lap record around the ౠLoꦜsail International Circuit.
Quartararo and Miller have been the st꧟andout riders in terms of raw pace so far, having been one-two at the conclusion of Sunday's first test.
With that said, it wasn't the easiest start to the day for Quartararo, who said: "So yes, the first part of theꦬ day was difficult. I made only a few laps early on and my pace was not so great."
"Then we ꦫimproved and I made some good pace and improved myself on the riding style. I’m happy because we improved a lot&nb꧂sp;the pace and the lap I did was one of the best laps I have ever done. Jack was a little bit faster, but I’m really happy with today. "
Quartararo jokingly said he did not expect to see Miller ahead of him after he posted his lap. "I was surprised by my lap time and also by Jack’s lap time. I honestly did 𓄧not think he was going to be in front of me and when I looked at the times and saw his number, I was laughing because he just overtook me," added the 21 year-old.
Yamaha have been extremely quick over one lap in recent seasons, and subsequently have more pole positions than any other team in the la🐲st two seasons. However, the bike has been a bit more difficult to ride when in the pack and not out front.
With testing replicating qualifying situations more than a race as riders are rarely on track together, the Frenchman was aওsked whether there have been improvements made in this ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚarea.
"Yes, s🐭o here is one the tracks where I am a little bit scared, because we still need to fix some issues with the bike🐈 as I don’t feel great overtaking people and we need to make that step.
"On the st💛raight, if there is a Ducati it will overtake us and we need to find a solution to overtake them back and make a gap.
"So looking at the time of Miller in front, it won’t be easy because 👍we can’t put 20 horsepower more in the engine, so I will just do my best."
The next two days will be ab♕out continuing to test what parts are left for Quartararo and shifting a bit more focus onto th☂e race performance.
Quartararo added: "I think that we are in the right direction and in a good way, but I think we are still missing a little bit. I’m feeling good because yoꦑu do not do 1m 53.2 if you are not feeling goꦬod with the bike.
"The race pace was great also, but I hope we make a step in the last two days. I feel grᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚeat on the bike🍸 and every day better so I really hope to make one or two tenths more on the pace, that would be amazing."
