But the issue was quickly resolved, as the Australian headed back out for the final few minutes and went fastest ahead ꦉof Fabio Quartararo on his final flyin𝕴g lap.
It looked as t🐎hough Quartararo was set to finish on top for the fourth consecutive session at Portimao, but instead settled for second ahead of Joan Mir.
Fourth was Aleix Espargaro for Aprilia, while fifth was Fr🎃anco Morbidelli - the same p𒊎osition as he starts today’s third race of the year.
In sixth position was the second Lenovo Ducati of Francesco Bagnaia, wh𓆏o will have work to do fromꦇ 11th place this afternoon.
Seventh was championship leader Zarco. The French rider has a four point lead over the⛎ Yamahas of Quarta🉐raro and Maverick Vinales, and it was Vinales who finished one spot back in eighth.
Rounding out the top ten were the 🦄KT🃏M’s of Brad Binder in ninth and Danilo Petrucci in tenth.
Marc Marquez was the l♐ast rider out on track as he elected 🐲to miss most of the session. The eight-time world champion only completed three flying laps.
As expected Marquez will face a tough race with 25 consecutive laps - a distance the arm has not been put through in 🍒nine months. Therefore the Spaniard chose not t🎶o put too much emphasis on the warm up session.
It wa🅘s a tough morning for Takaaki Nakagami as he once again struggled with his injuries suffered from Friday.
The Japanese rider headed out initially, but after a few laps could not finish the session and was visibly in some discomfort whilst sitting in t༒he pit box.
