After introducing a 'rough driving' penalty and no bumping zones at Daytona, NASCAR💃 has now removed the steel plate that has been in the front bumpers for the restrictor-plate races.
The resulting bumper is modelled after the one used at other tracks where the speeds are similar such as Califoꦇrnia Speedway, Michigan Interღnational Speedway and Lowe's Motor Speedway.
The front bumper retains its safety and aerodynamic features, but without th꧋e reinforcement of the steel plate, which allowed drivers to hit the rear bumper of another car with considerable force and not worry about damaging their radiators and doing terminal damage to the engine.
