The 2021 world champion, winner of ten out of 21 races so far this season as a rookie, will look to take back-to-back WorldSSP ൩titles for the first time since Kenan Sofuoglu achieved𝐆 the feat in 2015/16.
Aegerter recently lamented 🐻the lack of WorldSBK opportunities, which ⛦made this move somewhat inevitable.
In fact, only Luca Bernadi has so far moveꦦd from WorldSSP to the premier class for next year, while 🌞former Moto2&3 rider Philipp Ottl is rumoured to be in contention for one of the satellite Kawasaki rides.
Speaking after the announcement, Aegerter said: "I am very happy to continue with Ten Kate Racing Yamaha in 2022. We had a great first season with many succes🌃ses an♏d the World Championship.
"I am looking forwa🎐rd to working with the same groupꦫ of people next season. I feel very much at home at Ten Kate Racing, and we are a strong team.
"Next year, we will have more experience and more data, so the goal will be to defe🐠nd the world title w๊ith the Yamaha R6.
"Our common🐭 goal is to continue and grow together in 2022. I want to thank the team and all partners and sponsors who make our dream possibl🍃e.
"But first we go to Indonesia, an imꦑportant race in which we will try to score as many points as possible for the teams’ championship."
Despite not getting a WorldSBK r𒁏ide, the announcement was delayed due to any potential move up as Team Manager, Kervin ꧋Bos, said an agreement was reached earlier this season.
Bos also added: "We are very proud to announce that Dominique Aegerter will also join Ten Kate Racing Yamaha next se🌸ason. We are relatively late with this announcement, but we came to an agreement a🐎t an early stage of the season.
"Dominique fits e✱xcellently within the team and his Swiss mentality fits perfectly with our way of working.
"The goal is to also grow together in 2023, more about that at a later moment. We have one more race to go this year in Indonesia.&nbꦅsp;
"We can race without pressure, and I exp♛ect that we will then see a magnificent Dominique Aegerter."
