Lance Stroll says moving from Williams to Rac🌳ing Point for the 2019 Formula 1 season felt like a different racing category, believing the team is in “a much more competitive environment”.

Stroll spent two years with Williams, but was left raci💛ng towards the back of the grid through the 2018 season as the team struggled to compete with its midfield rivals, limiting the Canadian to just six points through the campaign.

Stroll moved up to Racing Point for 2019, 🦹giving him the chance to battle in F1’s midfield more regularly. He recordꦓed six points finishes through the season, including a run to fourth place at the German Grand Prix.

Talking about the adjustment to Racing Point’s car after two years with Williams, Stroll said it fel𒁃t “like a different category” gi🀅ven the progression made between both the teams and each season.

“Formula 1 is always changing,” Stroll said. “Tyres are changing ev💃ery year, a new car is developed, with [more] experience, and I think next year is a really exciting year for the team.

“We had a lot of challenges coming into this yearꦉ with everything that went on in 2018, with the transition from Force India to Racing Point. I do think that put us on the back foot coming into this year.

“I think next year is really going to be representative of what we can do over the winter, and how strong we can be when we show up in Me🌳lbourne.”

Asked about the main differences between Williams and Racing Point, Stroll replied: “I see a difference in speed. You look at the grid, it’s definitely a much 🐲more competitive environment.

“There’s a great group of engineers that work here. It’s great working with🍰 the guys around me, and I think everyone is really excited about next year, to be a part of that is very exciting.

“We’re already looking forwaꦅrd to 2020. I 🐟think there’s some unfinished business.”
